As a pianist

Active as a recital partner and chamber musician, but also orchestral pianist, Elena Postumi has performed with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and plays regularly with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared at international festivals such as the Dark Music Days, Lied in Dresden, Leipzig in Houston, collaborating with chamber musicians and singers internationally across recital and operatic repertoire. Recent highlights include Mahler’s Rückert Lieder at the Kunsthalle Darmstadt, and her participation in the world premiere of her own music-theatre work Becoming Luise Büchner at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, performing the prepared-piano part she composed for the production.

Her 2026 release, Icelandic Contemporary Songs, will feature her dual role as composer and pianist.
